Giorgio

ANCELLOTTA
Red wine 14.5% Vol.

GIORGIO is a tribute to our dad’s painstaking precision and extraordinary passion. Ancellotta grapes are hand-picked from estate vineyards and placed in small crates where a long drying process takes place. Vinification is characterized by protracted maceration on the pomace. The aging process continues for at least 24 months, the first six of which are in barriques (225 liters) and the following eighteen in tonneaux (500 liters) of oak. GIORGIO is characterized by its extraordinary garnet red color, refined aroma with hints of black cherry, licorice with hints of spices, white pepper, coffee and tobacco. The velvety, intense, harmoniously complex taste is enriched with exquisite minerality that persists long after swallowing.

ORIGIN

The Ancellotta grapes used to make GIORGIO come from the “Val ad li Teri” vineyard (a dialect expression indicating theValle dei Vigneti) near Sabbioneta (a UNESCO World Heritage Site). The soil is characterized by the deep layer of alluvial sediments of a clayey nature that ensures its high water retention capacity and constant supply of nutrients. The presence of a delicate surface limestone vein requires the vine to make selective and delicate root uptakes that enrich the mineral content of the grapes. The intermediate climate between oceanic and Mediterranean in conjunction with the most passionate care of the vineyard in every detail constitute the key ingredients for a wine of exquisite depth of flavor and structure.

To the eye

GIORGIO shows an intense garnet red color. As you turn the wine in the glass, you can observe the formation of thick tears along the walls of the glass that convey to the eye the extraordinary structure and exquisite elegance of GIORGIO.

Nose

You can feel the elegance of ripe red fruits such as black cherries, raspberries and blueberries. These aromas accompany notes of licorice, dried plums, and are enriched by hints such as white pepper, tobacco and coffee.

On the palate

We discover a very elegant palate where the velvety roundness of the tannin accompanies the elegant structure that supports the robust alcohol content without making it noticeable. Balanced acidity embellishes the rich and intense, markedly mineral flavor of a wine of very refined complexity.

pairings and tasting tips

Red Meats: GIORGIO is ideal with red meat, tenderloin and wild boar. Its structure and tannins go well with the intense flavors of grilled meats.
