Bacen
Pinot Noir
Blanc de Noirs: 12.0% Vol.
BACEN takes its name from the dialectal appellation of the majestic water drainage plant located between San Matteo and Sabbioni, where the winery is based. It is made from Pinot Noir grapes harvested by hand exclusively from estate vineyards. BACEN is the result of our compelling challenge and constant quest for excellence in the Classic Method. Delicate aromas of wildflowers and roses intertwine with citrus notes such as blood oranges and grapefruit zest. Hints of almond, dried fruit and tobacco open to the refined structure and fine perlage of BACEN whose exquisite minerality stays with you long after swallowing.
ORIGIN
The Pinot Noir grapes used to make BACEN come from the “Val d’Oca” vineyard between San Matteo and Sabbioni, in that tongue of land that, flanking the Oglio Nature Park, wedges into the Po River. The soil is characterized by the deep layer of alluvial sediments of a clayey nature that ensures its high water retention capacity and constant supply of nutrients. The presence of a delicate surface limestone vein requires the vine to make selective and delicate root uptake. The intermediate climate between oceanic and Mediterranean in conjunction with the most passionate care of the vineyard constitute key ingredients for a wine of balanced structure and exquisite minerality.
To the eye
BACEN has a brilliant straw color with golden highlights. Clarity and transparency in the glass highlight its purity and care in production. You can observe fine, persistent bubbles rising elegantly in the glass, creating an effervescent experience right from the visual aspect.
Nose
Delicate aromas of wildflowers and roses intertwine with citrus notes such as blood oranges and grapefruit zest. The freshness of the scent is enhanced by notes of almond, toast, dried fruit and tobacco that add elegant depth to the olfactory profile.
On the palate
Aromas of dried fruits such as hazelnuts or roasted almonds unfold on the palate to graft onto the refined structure and fine perlage enriched with exquisite minerality that persists elegantly and long after swallowing.
